Openssl HeartBleed Bug

The Heart Bleed Bug as it is known has made national news this week causing concern to alot of website and server owners.

None of our shared hosting servers are infected with Heart Bleed.  

For VPS and dedicated server users this is what you need to know.

Infected

  • OpenSSL 1.0.2-beta
  • OpenSSL 1.0.1 – OpenSSL 1.0.1f

 

Unaffected

  • OpenSSL 1.0.2-beta2 (upcoming)
  • OpenSSL 1.0.1g
  • OpenSSL 1.0.0 (and 1.0.0 branch releases)
  • OpenSSL 0.9.8 (and 0.9.8 branch releases)

 

If you have a dedicated or VPS server, you can check for the infected version of openssl by doing the following.

  1. Please login as root user using SSH.
  2. At the prompt  type   openssl version  then hit Return
  3. The version will display,  if it does not match the ones under infected above your good.
  4. If you do have an infected version you can contact support for further instructions.
